Project Description
|
The project involves the delivery of emergency vehicles to the area of Mazatlan, Mexico. This project has been ongoing since 2002. Other Grande Prairie and Alberta Rotary Clubs have been involved in the project over the years. Each vehicle requires 2 drivers to cover the 5,000km trip. It takes 1 week to drive the units. We spend 1 week delivering the vehicles to their locations with the help of the Mazatlan Rotary Clubs. Our vehicles are helping create fire departments in small communities, assist children get safely to school and help small communities to provide an ambulance service to their residents. We have helped over 15 different communities and their residents. Additionally, we have had over 100 Rotarians and spouses participate in the trip. |
